Also required
Not registry lookups; ezOIG doesn't run these- Reference checks before hire (10 CCR 2505-10 § 8.7409.E.1)
- At least 20 hours of personal care training or a skills validation test (10 CCR 2505-10 § 8.7538.E)

- Fingerprint-based CBI and FBI check of each owner, manager and administrator (C.R.S. 25-27.5-106(3))
Why some registries are not screened yet
- The registry blocks automated access
- The registry's website turns away automated lookups. We don't work around that, so for now your staff search it themselves.
- The registry's terms forbid automated searches
- The registry's terms, or the law behind it, rule out automated or third-party searches, so ezOIG doesn't run them.
- Requires an employer account
- Searches go through the employer's own account with the agency, so ezOIG doesn't run them for you.
Guidance, not legal advice
This page summarizes ezOIG's research into Colorado's rules for this program, checked against the regulations as of October 15, 2026. Rules change, and an agency's own contract or license can add to them. Confirm what applies to you with Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (Health First Colorado) or your own counsel before relying on it.
