Also required

Not registry lookups; ezOIG doesn't run these
  • Caregiver criminal history screening requested within 20 calendar days of starting work; a consumer may employ the attendant conditionally until then (Managed Care Policy Manual § 8.15; 8.370.5 NMAC)
  • CPR and first aid training, competency testing, TB testing and Hepatitis B immunization, unless a consumer-directed consumer waives them (Managed Care Policy Manual § 8.15)
  • Signed agreement not to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol (Managed Care Policy Manual § 8.15)

Why some registries are not screened yet

The registry's terms forbid automated searches
The registry's terms, or the law behind it, rule out automated or third-party searches, so ezOIG doesn't run them.
Requires an employer account
Searches go through the employer's own account with the agency, so ezOIG doesn't run them for you.

Guidance, not legal advice

This page summarizes ezOIG's research into New Mexico's rules for this program, checked against the regulations as of October 16, 2026. Rules change, and an agency's own contract or license can add to them.
